Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wayne County). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Perry County Vikings 68-41. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Kaylee Byrd and Alayna Thornton certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Byrd went 5 for 12 on her way to 14 points and eight assists, while Thornton posted 11 points. What's more, Thornton also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in December of 2024. Kristan Duncan was another key player, putting up seven points.

Wayne County's victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points over those games. As for Perry County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-13.

Coming up, Wayne County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Summertown at 6:00 p.m. As for Perry County, they will challenge McEwen at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McEwen has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 232 points over their last three matchups.
