The Scott County Cardinals will venture away from home to face off against the Bullitt East Chargers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Scott County sitting on six straight wins and Bullitt East on nine.
Scott County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Scott 16-0. Considering the Cardinals have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Ada Little made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Scott County got a massive performance out of Katie Stevens, who went 2-for-3 with five RBI and one double. Those five RBI gave Stevens a new career-high. Makiah Jackson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Scott County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in ten consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Bullitt East's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. Everything went their way against North Bullitt as they made off with a 9-0 victory. Considering the Chargers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Alivia Cooper was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. Courtney Bass was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Scott County pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bullitt East, their record now sits at 13-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Scott County hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Bullitt East struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Scott County came up short against Bullitt East in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, falling 6-2. Can the Cardinals avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
