St. Joseph Regional extended the longest winning streak in Big North - United this week by beating Ramapo, 40-21. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Green Knights.
Paramus Catholic took down Bergen Catholic 44-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Sherman Alston was a force in the backfield as St. Joseph Regional beat the Raiders.
Alston provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tony Karcich's team defeated Ramapo. Alston's key target this week was Ronald Edwards, who caught 4 passes for 111 yards.
Edwards was the best wideout in the league this week as the Green Knights topped Drew Gibbs' team. Edwards racked up 4 receptions for 111 yards. Devin Cividini helped St. Joseph Regional's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 13 yards.
6-foot-3 quarterback Steve Shanley of the Paladins is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,468. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Edwards. The St. Joseph Regional star has 22 catches for 496 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place St. Joseph Regional takes on second place Paramus Catholic. St. Joseph Regional topped the Raiders last week, while Paramus Catholic bested the Crusaders.
DePaul's Kareem Walker needs only 67 yards against Gloucester Catholic next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 88 carries Walker has put up 933 yards this year.
The Spartans led Big North - United in scoring this week by notching 48 points on Wayne Valley.
