On Friday, the Leake Academy Rebels faced the East Rankin Academy Patriots in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Leake Academy suffered a rough 51-30 loss at the hands of East Rankin Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leake Academy has scored all season.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Marleigh Myers, who scored six points along with two blocks. Ella Bell was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Leake Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 28-6. As for East Rankin Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 17 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 33-6 record this season.
Leake Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-58 defeat vs. Bayou Academy on the 10th. East Rankin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
