After flying high against the Great Falls Red Devils on Monday, the Buford Yellowjackets came back down to earth. Buford fell 44-33 to Parkwood on Tuesday. Buford has struggled against Parkwood recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Parkwood was led to victory by Peyton Collins and Katrina Meyre. Collins scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Meyre scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Collins has scored at least 25% of Parkwood's points. Madison Owen was another key contributor, scoring three points along with five assists and five steals.
Buford's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Parkwood, their victory bumped their record up to 3-5.
Buford and Great Falls will face off at 6:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Parkwood and Albemarle will round out the year against one another at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at. Albemarle presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Parkwood in North Carolina (Albemarle is ranked 145th, while Parkwood is ranked 414th).
