If the Page Pirates were feeling good off their 69-45 takedown of the Western Guilford Hornets last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Page's tough 77-57 loss to Grimsley on Friday might stick with them for a while. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Page has suffered since November 30, 2023.
Grimsley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Richard Goods led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds. Goods hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for 11 straight games. Another player making a difference was Nick Keith, who scored 18 points along with six assists and three steals.
Page's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Grimsley, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Page will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northwest Guilford at 8:00 p.m. Northwest Guilford is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Grimsley, they will head out on the road to square off against Southwest Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Southwest Guilford is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
