With a playoff win on the line, Alexandria rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Dora Bulldogs as they made off with a 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Valley Cubs, who have now won nine contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Alexandria is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Dora, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-15.

Alexandria will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
