The Hilltop Cadets had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 66-8 blowout they got at home against North Central. Hilltop's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Libbie Baker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 44 points and ten rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Hilltop's points.
Hilltop's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for North Central, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hilltop will square off against Swanton at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. North Central will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Edgerton at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Edgerton is on a three-game streak of home losses, North Central a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
