Baseball Recap: Poway Takes a Loss

Poway lost against Eastlake on Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Poway might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 4-1 to Eastlake, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Poway has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Poway got a good showing from Aiden Molinari, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Molinari has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Trenton Uyeda made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Kieran Langdown also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Eastlake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Coming up, Poway will be taking part in a tournament against Vista Grande at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Vista Grande will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Poway surely won't give up without a fight. As for Eastlake, they will head out to take on Grossmont at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
