Lane Tech barely beat Elk Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Lane Tech got a great performance from  Sofia Stronsky as she  didn't allow a single  earned run over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave  Stronsky a new career-high in  strikeouts (four).
 At the plate,  Gianna Phillips was a standout: she scored two  runs while going 3-for-3.  Amya Cordero was another key player,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  home run.
 Lane Tech  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elk Grove only posted  an  OBP of  .333.
With the  victory, Lane Tech broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-4. As for Elk Grove, their  loss was their first of the  season and  makes their record 2-1.
 Lane Tech wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  matchup,  a  3-0  defeat against Barrington on the 5th. As for Elk Grove, they will head out on the road to  take on  Leyden  at 4:45  p.m.  on Monday. The Grenadiers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on  a  three-game losing streak.
