The Clopton Hawks were the 47-45 winner over the Canton Tigers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Clopton took a 53-37 bruising from Canton on Tuesday. Clopton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Preston Brewer, who scored 20 points for Canton. That makes it four consecutive games in which Brewer has scored at least 25% of Canton's points. Another player making a difference was Kaden Oliver, who scored 8 points along with 3 steals.
Clopton's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Canton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Clopton will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Callaway at 6:00 p.m. on January 19, 2024. As for Canton, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Clark County at 7:30 p.m.
