The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Amherst County in their matchups with Jefferson Forest: they've now lost six in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Amherst County lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cheyenne Wall. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmena Awanda, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds.
Amherst County dropped their record down to 7-14 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Jefferson Forest, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
