Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The North Stanly Comets walked away with it. They skirted past T.W. Andrews 34-32. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for North Stanly's seven-point performance the contest before.
Among those leading the charge was Chance Blake, who threw for 325 yards and three touchdowns while completing 79.2% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Jay Jackson, who gained 106 total yards and two touchdowns.
T.W. Andrews' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Devin Hackstall, who threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Ja'Neil Harris, who picked up 129 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
North Stanly has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for T.W. Andrews, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.
North Stanly will head out on the road to face off against Brevard at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Brevard will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. T.W. Andrews does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
