The Magee Trojans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Perry Central Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Magee had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 16-15 victory over Seminary.
Magee got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeremiah Cole out in front who picked up 124 receiving yards and a touchdown. Kendal Middleton also helped out by tossing the rock for 252 yards.
Meanwhile, after only seven points in their last contest, Perry Central made sure to put some points up on the board against Tylertown on Thursday. Perry Central came out on top against Tylertown by a score of 39-30.
Ausin Jones was the offensive standout of the game as he rushed for 79 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 88 yards and two touchdowns while completing 78.6% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Dejohn Johnson, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown.
Magee's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Perry Central, their win bumped their record up to 3-6.
