It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Lenoir City Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Rhea County with points to spare, taking the game 31-13. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lenoir City.
Trey Wilhite continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 325 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Wilhite's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aiden Wilkerson, who picked up 130 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lenoir City pushed their record up to 7-4 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Rhea County, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Lenoir City will head out on the road to face off against Walker Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Walker Valley is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Rhea County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
