It was a good run, but the Hooper Academy Colts unfortunately witnessed the end of their ten-game winning streak on Tuesday. They received a tough blow as they fell 50-35 to Edgewood Academy. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Hooper Academy has scored all season.
Edgewood Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Johnny Groves, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four steals. The game was Groves' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Brody Whitt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Hooper Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4. As for Edgewood Academy, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hooper Academy will square off against Autauga Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Edgewood Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Evangel Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Evangel Christian will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
