The Valdosta Wildcats were the 61-31 winner over the Camden County Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Valdosta took a 55-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Camden County on Friday. Valdosta has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Loss or not, Valdosta got some senior leadership from Nadia Gardner who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals and Chasity Degale who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Gardner is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of JaMya Evans, who scored six points.
Valdosta's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-5. As for Camden County, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Colquitt County the next time they take the court. Camden County will host Colquitt County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Valdosta will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
