The Drew Dragons pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Gateway 63-59. Drew just can't catch a break and has now endured three defeats in a row.
Despite the defeat, Drew had strong showings from Teo Kimball-Directo, who scored 23 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, and Kian Chan, who scored 18 points along with five assists and two steals. Kimball-Directo is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last 17 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Matus, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Drew's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Gateway, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Drew will take on International at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. International will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak. As for Gateway, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome San Francisco Waldorf at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. San Francisco Waldorf and Gateway are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
