The Mendota Aztecs will square off against the McFarland Cougars at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. McFarland took a loss in their last  contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Mendota, who comes in off a win.
 Mendota is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They put the hurt on Orange Cove with a sharp  42-21 victory two weeks ago. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest  win of the  season.
 Mendota's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Ryan Preciado led the charge by throwing for 232 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.  David Gonzalez helped  Preciado out on the ground, rushing for 118 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
 He was just one part of a punishing run game: Mendota was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 234  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've managed all season.

 Meanwhile, McFarland was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight  loss. They were dealt  a  46-19 defeat at the hands of Golden Valley.
 Despite their  loss, McFarland saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays.  Sebastian San Juan Concha, who picked up 92 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 40 yards, was perhaps the best of all.  Jorge Hernandez-Galvan was another key player, throwing for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
 Mendota's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for McFarland, they now  have a losing record at 2-3.
