Glenbrook South fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Glenbrook North on Friday as Glenbrook South made off with a 42-21 win. With Glenbrook South ahead 28-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Nate Canning was a one-man wrecking crew for Glenbrook South as he rushed for 330 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Canning was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 58 yards. Another player making a difference was Dominick Rejkiewicz, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Barrington put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 45-19 margin over Conant. The result was nothing new for Barrington, who have now won three matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Dillon Fitzpatrick continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also picking up 32 receiving yards. Nick Peipert was another key contributor, throwing for 182 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Glenbrook South is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. As for Barrington, their victory was their 11th straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 9-0.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Glenbrook South has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 276 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Barrington struggles in that department as they've been averaging 200.7 per game. It's looking like Friday's contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
