After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Salisbury, the West Davidson Dragons were happy to have found some success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 43-5 win over Thomasville at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-2.
Among those leading the charge was Ella Barbee, who scored seven points along with seven steals. She hasn't dropped below three steals for five straight games. Wyatt Cooper was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
West Davidson has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-12 record this season. As for Thomasville, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-17.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Davidson will take on the Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lexington is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Thomasville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully South Davidson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
