The Collinsville Kahoks were the 51-37 winner over the East St. Louis Flyers when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Collinsville fell 60-50 to East St. Louis on Thursday.
Despite the loss, Collinsville still got an impressive performance from Talesha Gilmore, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 19 rebounds. That was a full 52% of Collinsville's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ella Guererro, who scored six points along with two steals.
Collinsville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. As for East St. Louis, their win bumped their record up to 9-15.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Collinsville will take on Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East St. Louis, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Lift for Life Academy at 12:00 p.m. on January 29th. Lift for Life Academy is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
