The Bryan Vikings will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Harker Heights Knights at 7:30 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bryan has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Harker Heights will arrive with four straight victories.
Bryan's game on Friday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of Hutto by a score of 66-63. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Isaiah nutall, who rushed for 214 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Terrence Lewis, who gained 234 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Harker Heights took their game at home on Thursday with ease, bagging a 38-10 victory over Copperas Cove. With Harker Heights ahead 28-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Dylan Plake looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 256 yards and three touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Butler, who gained 120 total yards and a touchdown.
Bryan's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Harker Heights, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Bryan was taken down by Harker Heights 49-14 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Thankfully for Bryan, Re'shaun Sanford ll (who rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 74 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time.
