The Compass Charter Aviators's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Nampa Christian at home by a decisive 69-52 margin. Compass Charter has struggled against Nampa Christian recently, as their game on Wednesday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Compass Charter had strong showings from Mason Bennett, who scored 18 points, and Kellen Walbuck, who scored 12 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bennett has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Skimmyhorn, who scored six points.
Compass Charter has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Nampa Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-5.
Compass Charter will be playing at home against New Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. New Plymouth presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Compass Charter in Idaho (New Plymouth is ranked 27th, while Compass Charter is ranked 87th). Nampa Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face The Ambrose School at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. The Ambrose School has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
