The Mohave Thunderbirds will venture away from home to take on the Sahuarita Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mohave is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Bradshaw Mountain as they made off with a 13-1 win. The victory was nothing new for the Thunderbirds as they're now sitting on five straight.

Rilynn Bragg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Kaydence Farnham was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two runs. Jahnezz Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
Mohave always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February.
Meanwhile, Sahuarita made easy work of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy on Friday and carried off a 15-5 win. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Sahuarita got a massive performance out of Mayrani Munoz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four RBI and one run. Those four hits gave Munoz a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Soto, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Mohave pushed their record up to 16-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Sahuarita, their record now sits at 23-5.
Saturday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mohave hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .350. However, it's not like Sahuarita struggles in that department as they've averaged .419. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Mohave skirted past Sahuarita 8-7 when the teams last played back in March of 2018. Will the Thunderbirds repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
