After losing to Blacksburg the last time they met, Landrum decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Landrum Cardinals put the hurt on the Blacksburg Wildcats with a sharp 14-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won six games by ten runs or more so far this season.

The win made it two in a row for Landrum and bumps their season record up to 7-2. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Blacksburg, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Landrum will challenge Polk County at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Landrum's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Polk County's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Blacksburg, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Blacksburg Wildcats take on Landrum Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
