Muncy is 8-2 against Sullivan County since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Indians will head out to square off against the Griffins at 4:30 p.m. Muncy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Muncy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Benton on Saturday. The Indians were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Tigers. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Corbyn Gardner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Muncy is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Gardner was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jameson Barlow, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Sullivan County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 8-0 to Sugar Valley Rural. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Griffins were not able to get on the board.
Sullivan County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tucker Blasi, who went 1-for-3 with one triple.
Sullivan County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Muncy, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Muncy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Sullivan County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Muncy got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Sullivan County by a conclusive 18-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
