The Pigeon Forge Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their eighth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 82-66 to Seymour. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pigeon Forge in their matchups with Seymour: they've now lost four in a row.
Cameron Soulages continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Seymour, scoring 35 points along with five rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Soulages has scored at least a third of Seymour's points. Hayes Golden was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine assists.
Pigeon Forge dropped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Seymour, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-20.
Pigeon Forge's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Austin-East at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Pigeon Forge will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Austin-East is ranked 65th). As for Seymour, they will head out on the road to square off against Heritage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seymour focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Monday.
