After a string of eight wins, the Los Gatos Wildcats's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 55-48 to Mountain View. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Los Gatos came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Mountain View is ranked 304th).
Los Gatos' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Scotty Brennan, who scored ten points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Brennan has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan G. koch, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain View to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaden Feller, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten blocks. Feller is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last four games he's played. Jayden Minor was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.
Los Gatos' defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Mountain View, their win bumped their record up to 12-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Wilcox the next time they take the court. Mountain View will host Wilcox at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Los Gatos will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
