Basketball Game Preview: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Wilkinson County Warriors

The Dooly County Bobcats will challenge the Wilkinson County Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilkinson County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dooly County, who comes in off a win.

Dooly County will head into Saturday's game on the come-up: they were handed a 30-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 38-36 victory over Hawkinsville.

Dooly County found their leader in freshman Ja'Kayla Hooks, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 boards. Hooks is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jazlyn Hall, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Dooly County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson County scored the most points they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They received a blow as they fell 62-48 to Glascock County. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Dooly County's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Wilkinson County, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

Everything came up roses for Dooly County against Wilkinson County in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 69-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dooly County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
