The Bath County Chargers will head out on the road to face off against the Highland Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Highland took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bath County, who comes in off a win.
Last Wednesday, Bath County was fully in charge, breezing past Pocahontas County 75-47 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-22.
Bath County's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Andrew Turner, who scored 22 points along with three steals, and Wyatt Campbell, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds. Turner hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Luke Turner, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Highland pushed their score all the way to 60 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They suffered a tough 83-60 defeat at the hands of Narrows. Highland has struggled against Narrows recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Bath County's win bumped their record up to 11-12. As for Highland, their loss dropped their record down to 6-10.
Bath County lost to Highland on the road by a decisive 52-37 margin in their previous matchup back in January. Can Bath County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
