The Calvary Christian Academy Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Saint Andrew's Scots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Two weeks ago, Calvary Christian Academy blew past Northeast, posting a 42-6 win at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Calvary Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Yohan-li Louis out in front who rushed for 36 yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Saint Andrew's came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let Pine Crest onto the board and left with a 35-0 victory. Given Saint Andrew's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Pine Crest is ranked 435th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Saint Andrew's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dylan Mayers, who threw for 180 yards and five touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. teddy hoffmann also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Saint Andrew's defense and their three sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ethan Friesel.
Calvary Christian Academy has yet to lose a contest at home this season, leaving them with a 7-3 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 41.8 points per game. As for Saint Andrew's, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as Calvary Christian Academy and Saint Andrew's haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Calvary Christian Academy commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.8 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Saint Andrew's struggles in that department as they've been even better at 4.9 per game.
