Garner will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Moran Bulldogs at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Moran took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Garner, who comes in off a win.
On Wednesday, Garner strolled past Bluff Dale with points to spare, taking the game 36-17. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Garner.
Meanwhile, Moran's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Monday after their tenth straight loss. They received a tough blow as they fell 45-31 to Panther Creek.
Despite the loss, Moran saw an underclassman step up: Kielar Carr scored 16 points. Carr scored a full 51.6% of Moran's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kacenda Thompkins, who scored six points.
The win got Garner back to even at 9-9. As for Moran, they bumped their record down to 1-14 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Garner against Moran when the teams last played on December 2nd as the team secured a 51-10 victory. With Garner ahead 26-2 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
