After flying high against the Sweetwater Red Devils last Saturday, the Fallbrook Warriors came back down to earth. Fallbrook took a 53-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mt. Carmel on Wednesday. Fallbrook has struggled against Mt. Carmel recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Fallbrook still got an impressive performance from Samuel Carmona, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. Malaki Brotherton was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Raymond Hourani was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds for Mt. Carmel. Hourani hasn't dropped below 15 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Blaine Raagas, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Fallbrook's loss dropped their record down to 12-14. As for Mt. Carmel, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season.
Fallbrook will be playing at home against Escondido at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fallbrook focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Mt. Carmel, they will head out on the road to challenge Valley Center at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Valley Center focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Wednesday.
