Baseball Recap: Middle Creek Snags Ninth Win in Last 12 Games

While Middle Creek put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Panther Creek. The Mustangs were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Catamounts. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Casey Murray was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caden Miner, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Will Tobin, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Middle Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Middle Creek has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Panther Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-19.
