It was a good run, but the Mill Creek Bullfrogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. The matchup between Mill Creek and Clayton wasn't particularly close, with Mill Creek falling 56-39. Mill Creek lost against Clayton in their previous head to head back in January of 2017, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 82-56 score last time.
Clayton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layton Brown, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 rebounds. Brown set a new season high mark in blocks with two. Tyler Clemons was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Mill Creek's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Clayton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Mill Creek will be home for the holidays to greet Stonewall at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stonewall knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four matchups -- so hopefully Mill Creek likes a good challenge. Clayton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kinta at 8:00 p.m. on January 11, 2024.
