The Triad Cardinals's game last Wednesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They really took it to Northeastern for the full four quarters, racking up a 49-14 win at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Triad has managed all season.
Triad got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Ferguson out in front who scored 20 points along with two steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ferguson has scored at least a third of Triad's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia LeMay, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five blocks.
Triad's win ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Northeastern, their loss was their 15th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-14.
Triad's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fairbanks at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to take on Madison Plains at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Madison Plains has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
