The Belding Black Knights had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Tri County Area at home to the tune of 66-20. The result was nothing new for Belding, who have now won six games by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Belding to victory were Codey Manley and Anthony Szubinski. Manley rushed for 140 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, while Szubinski rushed for 110 yards and three touchdowns. Manley was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.
Belding's victory was their seventh straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for Tri County Area, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-1.
Belding does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Tri County Area will head out on the road to face off against Kingsford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
