Edgewood Academy can attribute much of their success to Madison Martin, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and three steals, and Lindsey Brown, who scored 21 points along with six assists and six rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of Edgewood Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery White, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Autauga Academy's five-game losing streak came to an end last Monday. They took down Evangel Christian Academy 45-27. The victory was just what Autauga Academy needed coming off of a 59-22 defeat in their prior game.
Autauga Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Claudia DiTomasso out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Teonna Davis, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and five steals.
Edgewood Academy's record now sits at 21-3. As for Autauga Academy, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's game: Edgewood Academy have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Autauga Academy, though, as they've been averaging only 0.3 threes per game. Given Edgewood Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Autauga Academy will need to find a way to close that gap.
Everything came up roses for Edgewood Academy against Autauga Academy in their previous matchup last Friday as the team secured a 59-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Edgewood Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
