If the Red Mesa Redskins were feeling good off their 49-12 takedown of the Basis Yeti last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Red Mesa took a 61-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rock Point on Saturday. If Red Mesa hoped to take revenge for the 59-38 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
When it comes to explaining why Red Mesa lost, one person who can't be blamed is Delilah Kee. Despite the final result, she scored 12 points. Kee continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Christina Benally, who scored ten points.
Red Mesa has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for Rock Point, their win bumped their record up to 12-9.
Red Mesa will head out on the road to square off against Monument Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Averaging 56.2 so far this season, Monument Valley's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Red Mesa better be ready for a challenge. As for Rock Point, they will play host again and welcome Basis, where tip off is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Basis focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 48 on Thursday.
