Brookside lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Bella Diaz, who went 7 for 16 on her way to 15 points and six rebounds. Those six boards gave Diaz a new career-high. Brianna Slaughter was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Wellington found their leader in sophomore Mackenzie Jerousek, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Jerousek. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalynne Pickering, who put up nine points and six rebounds.
Brookside's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Wellington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Brookside will look to defend their home court on December 28th against Open Door Christian at 5:30 p.m. Wellington and New London will round out the year against one another at at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th.
