Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Oakwood was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Mt. Madonna on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawks fell just short of the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Hawks were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

Oakwood started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 19-25, 25-18, 25-23, 15-9.

Despite the loss, Oakwood still got an impressive performance from Isabelle Anderson, who had 11 digs, ten aces, and three blocks. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nalani Goulart, who had 24 digs and two aces.

Oakwood's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 1-2. As for University Prep Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Oakwood has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against York on the 4th. As for University Prep Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Aragon on the 6th.
