The Fort Defiance Indians entered their tilt with the Staunton Storm with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Fort Defiance walked away with a 21-13 victory over Staunton on Friday. This was payback for Fort Defiance, who suffered a 14-12 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Fort Defiance can attribute much of their success to Bradley Hebb, who rushed for 64 yards and two touchdowns.
Fort Defiance's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Waynesboro and 3-6 Staunton (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.2% over those games). As for Staunton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Fort Defiance will challenge Buffalo Gap at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Buffalo Gap is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. As for Staunton, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Waynesboro at 7:00 p.m. Waynesboro comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
