Falkner has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Myrtle Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Falkner took their matchup at home with ease, bagging a 63-14 victory over Byers. The result was nothing new for Falkner, who have now won four matchups by 39 points or more so far this season.
Gavin Wooley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 130 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 335 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes. Wooley is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played.
Meanwhile, Myrtle's 11-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They claimed a resounding 41-14 win over Ashland at home.
Myrtle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jase Gibson led the charge by rushing for 62 yards and two touchdowns, while also throwing for 88 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. Preston Richardson was in the mix too, providing Myrtle with two touchdowns.
Falkner has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. Finally capturing their first victory of the season, Myrtle advanced to 1-6.
Falkner was taken down by Myrtle 55-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2020. Can Falkner avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
