The Bartlesville Bruins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of Ponca City by a score of 46-44. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Bartlesville of the 53-50 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Leading Ponca City to victory were AJ Landes and Tay Moore. Landes scored ten points along with five assists, while Moore dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds.
Bartlesville dropped their record down to 3-15 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Ponca City, their win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bartlesville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Edmond Memorial at 8:00 p.m. on February 6th. Edmond Memorial presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bartlesville in Oklahoma (Edmond Memorial is ranked 25th, while Bartlesville is ranked 271st). As for Ponca City, they will head out on the road to square off against Choctaw at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ponca City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Monday.
