Softball Recap: Bosqueville Snags Tenth Victory in Last 11 Games

Bosqueville got themselves on the board against Bruceville-Eddy on Friday, but Bruceville-Eddy never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over the Eagles. Considering the Bulldogs have won 13 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Carli Wright, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Carly Collins was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Bosqueville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bruceville-Eddy only posted an OBP of .214.

Bosqueville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.1 runs on average over those games. As for Bruceville-Eddy, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bosqueville is set to square off against their familiar foe Valley Mills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bulldogs 2.9, the Eagles 2) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Bruceville-Eddy will challenge rival Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
