It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-12, which was the final score in Liberty's tilt against Gateway on Tuesday. Liberty was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-2.
Liberty's defeat came about despite a quality game from India Smith, who scored seven points along with four steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Smith posted two or more blocks.
Osceola won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against St. Cloud, falling 59-23. Osceola has not had much luck with St. Cloud recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Osceola, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.
Liberty won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, slipping by Osceola 1-0. Will Liberty repeat their success, or does Osceola have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
