The Green Level Gators entered their tilt with the Wakefield Wolverines with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Green Level walked away with a 47-39 victory over Wakefield on Monday. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up seven more assists than your opponent, as Green Level did.
Leading Green Level to victory were Deana Prasad and Ryan Baker. Prasad scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Baker scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baker has scored all season. Claire Barber was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
Wakefield's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaya Hamilton, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Nicole Amend, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Green Level has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Wakefield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green Level will face off against Middle Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Middle Creek is on a four-game streak of home wins, Green Level a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Wakefield, they will head out on the road to challenge Wake Forest at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
