Glacier is 9-1 against Butte since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Wolfpack will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 12:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
While Glacier's victory against Columbia Falls wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Wolfpack sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 11-9 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Wolfpack in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.
Ava Grady and Olivia Warriner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Grady tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Warriner struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2025. At bat, Grady went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI, while Warriner went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Taelor Holt was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Makynlee Meyer also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.
Glacier was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Butte got themselves on the board against Flathead on Friday, but Flathead never followed suit. They skirted past the Braves 1-0. Those one runs were actually the fewest the Bulldogs have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Not much got past Brea Henderson, who gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Flathead off the board.
At the plate, Butte saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allie Becker, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Butte now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Glacier, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Glacier hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Butte struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Glacier came out on top in a nail-biter against Butte in their previous meeting on April 7th, sneaking past 4-3. Do the Wolfpack have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
