The Sutter Huskies fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Escalon Cougars on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 100-91 to the Cougars. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (79), Sutter still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Sutter lost, one person who can't be blamed is Naseem Bhatti. Despite the final result, he scored 32 points along with 5 rebounds. The game was Bhatti's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Jagger Beck was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with 9 rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for Sutter and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for Escalon, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sutter will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Colusa at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. As for Escalon, they will square off against Summerville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Summerville will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
